We are looking for part time business administrator, whose main focus is to proactively manage all of The Green’s user bookings including both regular and one off hires to make the most efficient use of The Green’s three rooms taking into account commercial and community booking interests. 

You will also manage the office and admin processes and procedures at The Green to ensure that we deliver a high standard of service to the users booking The Green. 

You will work with Centre Manager to develop the centre in line with strategic direction and targets for either occupancy or income.

Centre Manager vacancy

We are looking for part time Centre Manager, who will will provide leadership and strategic direction to The Green community centre, its staff and volunteers in conjunction with the Nunhead’s Voice Board. 

The role will encompass all aspects of the charity’s activities, managing the staff team to provide an inspiring programme, an inclusive and welcoming community hub, and a clear focus on the safety and well-being of all staff, volunteers and centre users.

The Centre Manager will secure the financial stability and sustainability of The Green community centre through a mix of commercial and community use, providing financial stewardship and keeping Nunhead’s Voice board informed and able to make financial decisions.  You will ensure the team meet clear targets (occupancy or income) for both regular and one off hires.

The Centre Manager will also be responsible for developing a programme of community events and activities that furthers Nunhead’s Voice’s mission, supported by an active and effective fundraising strategy and an attractive volunteering programme.

Bookkeeper vacancy – now closed for applications

We are looking for an experienced accountant or bookkeeper to support the Green Community Centre with its financial management. The tasks in this role vary from processing income and payments in our finance system and managing the balance-sheet to preparing summary financial reports for our board. This is a flexible part-time role of approximately 1 day a week. It would suit someone comfortable with using finance systems, preferably QuickBooks.  Pay is up to £20 per hour depending on skills and experience.

Ideal candidate will have a finance qualification, be partly qualified or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience of working as a bookkeeper, with practical finance experience. You will have a good knowledge of finance systems such as QuickBooks, Excel, and be confident dealing with people. You will also have strong communications skills and be comfortable multi-tasking. Cleaner/caretaker vacancies

The Green Community Centre is looking for experienced cleaners/caretakers to join our team, to assist in maintaining good levels of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the centre by performing cleaning and caretaking duties. The post holder will also act as a weekend key holder and will be dealing with hirers and supporting them during this time. In addition, the post holders will be responsible for 1st hand maintenance of the centre and the garden. The person will need to have the flexibility to deal with issues within the centre with initiative and resourcefulness.

We offer a welcoming and professional environment within the community centre, and friendly and supportive staff team. The post holders will become an important member of the team in helping to maintain our community premises environment as well as being the face of the centre over the weekend.

This post is for 9 hours per week, hours of work will be mostly flexible but Saturday 12:00-17:00, 17:00-22:00 or Sunday 12:00-19:00 will be one of your shifts. During Monday to Friday, we are expecting 2 hours a day cleaning, preferably during early afternoon, or late evening. There is flexibility in work pattern so please let us know.

The Green Community Centre is a new community facility open to public in 2015 and since then has been at the heart of community activities of Nunhead. There is a wide range of activities catering for all ages and local residents use the centre as a private party venue during the weekends. Most of the private parties are for children’s birthdays, although we have also hosted fundraising events, christenings, weddings and funerals, festivals, workshops as well as many other events.

Fundraiser needed

The Green is a new community centre in Nunhead, opening this autumn. It will offer a programme of weekly activities as well as spaces for private hire. To achieve our ambition for The Green to be a hub for the whole community, we’re looking for a freelance fundraiser/community development worker who can help us at establish sustainable charitable income streams.

For now, we’re offering a six month, fixed rate contract of £1,000/month. Hours and location are flexible, but the successful candidate will need to deliver on agreed objectives and income targets. Based on achievement of initial objectives, we’d be willing to negotiate a longer term contract.
